Join Curator of Yaya’s Kitchen Malvin Wright and TD Curator of Collections Zahra McDoom to discuss Black Lives Lived Here: London Family Photos 1910s–1960s and the food heritage of London’s Black community. Hear how family gatherings, celebrations, communal, and home-cooked meals reflect the history of pre-colonial and Afro-diasporic traditions. Explore how food is both resistance and nurturance. Learn about the food journey of early Black Londoners and how Yaya’s Kitchen is reimagining and remixing these inheritances through their cooking today.
